EP. 65: Beck Dorey-Stein, how do you write a bestseller White House memoir and a debut novel?

Powered by RedCircle

Beck Dorey-Stein grew up in Narberth, Pennsylvania, and taught high school English for three years before serving as a White House stenographer from 2012 to 2017. Her first book, From the Corner of the Oval, was a New York Times bestseller. She has a new novel coming out on June 29th called Rock the Boat, in which old friends discover how much has changed (and how much has stayed the same) when they reunite in their seaside hometown for one unforgettable summer.

In this episode of How Do You Do? Podcast, Ben asks Beck how she recalled such specific details for her memoir; the time that she hung out with Charles Barkley during a snow day at the White House (and why that memory didn't make it into her memoir); and the real-life inspiration behind her new novel.
